Job Description

Position: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager

Location: Melville

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, managing food preparation, ensuring quality control, and leading a team of cooks and kitchen staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee kitchen operations and manage food preparation for all menu items.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to ensure efficiency and teamwork.
  • Monitor inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients.
  • Create and develop new menu items and seasonal specials.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation practices.
  • Manage kitchen staff schedules and labor costs to meet budget goals.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times.
  • Work closely with front-of-house managers to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, or in a similar culinary leadership role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and health & safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for providing excellent food and service.
