Job Description

Director, People & Organizational Development

The Director, People & Organizational Development , will design and deliver strategies to develop and retain a high-performing workforce and purpose-led culture. This role will translate organizational priorities into actionable talent and culture initiatives that support business goals through thoughtful talent management practices and the fostering of a meaningful workplace culture. Partnering closely with business leaders and Global People Team colleagues, this role will develop and scale training and development programs, strengthen talent pipelines, enhance employee experience and retention, and foster an inclusive workplace. The Director will enhance the employee experience through strong alignment with company Values and Purpose and will play a critical role in attracting, developing, and retaining talent that drives organizational performance. 

What You'll Do: 

  • Develop and implement talent strategies that align with the organization’s business objectives and evolving workforce needs.
  • Lead talent development programs including leadership development, training, career pathing, and mentoring initiatives in North America and align with the global organization’s goals.
  • Lead centralized governance of company training methodology, platform and content.
  • Manage and improve talent processes and systems such as succession planning, talent reviews, performance management and pipeline development, ensuring increased readiness of internal successors.
  • Partner with business leaders to assess emerging talent and skill needs, leveraging external best practices to inform programs and solutions.
  • Partner with Compensation and People Team colleagues to strengthen performance management practices and ensure goal alignment and consistent measures across the organization.
  • Define and monitor talent and engagement metrics to support data-driven decision-making and targeted action planning.
  • Partner closely with NA Board to create and lead developmental journey for Viega’s Leadership Team including semi-annual meetings and intentional development.
  • Build and maintain a suite of tools for teambuilding and coaching in the organization.
  • Execute strategic communications related to internal messaging, employer brand, and culture initiatives.
  • Champion an inclusive and positive culture that reflects company Values and Purpose.
  • Support Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging initiatives by coordinating programs, tracking progress against goals, and engaging leaders and employees at all levels.
  • Drive employee experience initiatives, including recognition programs and feedback systems, to enhance satisfaction and retention.
  • Manage organizational effectiveness and change management projects to enable business transformation and greater agility.
  • Collaborate with leaders to ensure organizational structures, roles, and teams are aligned to business goals.
  • Design and oversee onboarding programs that reduce time to proficiency for new hires.
  • Ensure effective use of People Team technology and communications platforms, while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead the North American People & Organizational Development Team and proactively partner with Global People & Organizational Development Team.

What We’re Looking For:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Hands-on experience implementing talent development and learning programs.
  • Strong knowledge of performance management, employee experience, and retention practices.
  • Working knowledge of communication strategies and change management practices.
  • Demonstrated credibility, discretion, and sound judgment when assessing talent.
  • Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and direct the work of teams.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in making data-driven decisions.
  • Solid business acumen and ability to align talent and culture initiatives with organizational needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to champion change and support organizational readiness.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Talent and Culture (or related People Team functions) with increasing scope and responsibility.
  • 7+ years of experience leading teams and delivering work through others.
  • Demonstrated success in talent management, organizational development, and culture initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting DEIB initiatives and contributing to change management efforts.
  • Recent experience working with People Team technology and communication platforms in multi-site and global organizations.

Compensation

  • Base: $150,895.00 - $213,921.00 annually based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market. 

  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
